Who is this for?

Owners of properties built before the 1980s still on original wiring, anyone carrying out a major renovation or loft conversion, contractors who need first fix and second fix wiring on a new build, and buyers of older homes where the wiring condition is unknown.

Signs you need this

  • Your property has rubber-insulated, lead-sheathed, or fabric-covered wiring
  • Sockets or switches feel warm to the touch during normal use
  • You are renovating and the existing wiring cannot support new layouts or loads
  • An EICR has returned unsatisfactory with multiple C1 or C2 codes
  • Your home still runs on a two-wire system without an earth conductor

What is included

  • Full survey of the existing installation before any work begins
  • Removal of old wiring and installation of new cables to all circuits
  • New consumer unit with RCD or RCBO protection
  • New sockets, switches, and light fittings as agreed
  • Full testing, certification, and Building Control notification

How it works

  1. 1We carry out a detailed survey and discuss the scope of work with you.
  2. 2You receive a comprehensive quote that covers everything, including making good where we need to lift floors or chase walls.
  3. 3Work is carried out room by room to minimise disruption. A full rewire typically takes 5 to 10 days depending on property size.
  4. 4We test the entire installation, issue your certificates, and leave the property ready for decoration.

Certification on Completion

Rewiring is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations. We self-certify through NICEIC and notify your local Building Control. You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate on completion.

What Our Customers Say

Power went out at 11pm on a Sunday. Called Capital Electrician and someone was at my door within 45 minutes. Turned out to be a faulty connection in the consumer unit. Fixed on the spot. Could not ask for more.

Emergency Electrician

Needed an EICR for my rental flat before the new tenants moved in. Booked for the following week, electrician arrived on time, and I had the certificate emailed to me the same day. Simple and professional.

EICR & Electrical Certificates

Had our 1930s house fully rewired. It was a big job and they were upfront about the disruption, but the team worked tidily and finished a day ahead of schedule. The new consumer unit is a big improvement on the old fuse box.
